Joint statement from U.S., Great Britain, Germany and France on Dr. Gubad Ibadoglu
We are closely following the arrest of respected international academic Dr Gubad Ibadoglu on 23 July. It is vital Azerbaijan protects the fundamental freedoms and human rights of its citizens, including Dr Ibadoglu, consistent with Azerbaijan’s constitution and its international obligations and commitments. We call on the Azerbaijani Government to ensure that Dr Ibadoglu’s human rights are respected, including access to medication and fair legal process.
