Thanksgiving Day is one of the most important and universally celebrated national holidays in the United States. Celebrated for many years on the fourth Thursday of November, Thanksgiving originally began as a day of giving thanks for the blessings of the year’s harvest and of the preceding year. Today it is still considered a day when Americans gather together with family and friends to share a meal and express gratitude. Last week Ambassador Litzenberger, along with the Embassy’s American employees, hosted a Thanksgiving Local Staff Appreciation Lunch to recognize the hard work and dedication of our dedicated local staff. Happy Thanksgiving!
