Today, Ambassador Litzenberger traveled to Shamakhi District to participate in the delivery of three mobile clinics, which will provide essential health services to thousands of people living in Shamakhi City, and its surrounding rural communities. The new clinics were procured by USAID/Azerbaijan and the British Embassy Azerbaijan. During his visit, Ambassador Litzenberger also announced that USAID would provide an additional $1 million to support Azerbaijan’s efforts to combat COVID-19.
For nearly thirty years, @USAID has contributed to Azerbaijan’s social and economic development through assistance programs focused on agriculture, public health, education, and economic and democratic reform. Since independence, @USAID has provided more than $417 million to assist with humanitarian relief and the health sector. These programs not only help build better lives for the people of Azerbaijan but also provide platforms for Americans and Azerbaijanis to work together.
