Today, Ambassador Litzenberger traveled to the village of Melham in Shamakhi District with Mukhtar Babayev, the Azerbaijani Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources. During the visit, the Minister and the Ambassador launched a new weather forecasting station in partnership with Baron Weather, an American weather technology company. This partnership is yet another great example of how economic cooperation between the United States and Azerbaijan benefits both countries. The Ambassador also participated in a tree-planting ceremony and congratulated the Ministry for taking measures to address the challenges posed by climate change.
As in the United States, the rural regions of Azerbaijan have enormous economic potential. We are proud of the role that residents of rural areas play in both our national economies!
