The Global Innovation through Science and Technology (GIST) initiative is one of the Department’s leading programs on innovation.
Between June 9-20, the GIST Entrepreneurship Journey brought the founders of 12 technology startups to the United States for 10 days of mentoring and training in a Chicago incubator. They also engaged with senior Department officials in Washington D.C.
These entrepreneurs were drawn from over 1500 participants in GIST programs over the past 18 months. They are role models of shared economic prosperity through science, technology, and entrepreneurial innovation, which are key foreign policy goals of GIST and the Department. We encourage young innovators to compete to become the next GIST science and technology entrepreneur role models.
