Defense Threat Reduction Office (DTRO) – BAKU is responsible for all Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA)-related activities in Azerbaijan to include nuclear and biological counter proliferation programs; arms control inspections, training and exercises. The U.S. Office of Defense Cooperation (ODC) Azerbaijan manages the broad spectrum of U.S. Security Assistance and military contact programs in Azerbaijan to achieve broad U.S. and Azerbaijani security cooperation objectives. Execution of these programs must be conducted within legal, policy, and procedural guidelines as determined by US authorities. The office is responsible to the U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan and the Commander U.S. European Command (USEUCOM). Its main guidance documents include the Ambassador’s Mission Performance Plan and EUCOM’s Country Campaign Plan. Read more…

The Public Affairs Section (PAS) carries out educational and cultural exchange programs, promotes free and independent media, and provides information on the development of democracy and civil society. PAS works to strengthen the bilateral relationship between the United States and Azerbaijan, through events and programs that articulate U.S. foreign policy and promote greater mutual understanding.
