U.S. Trade Delegation Visits Azerbaijan

The United States Mission to Azerbaijan, along with the American Chamber of Commerce in Azerbaijan, the American Business Forum in Turkey, the Turkish American Business Association, the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO), and the United States Foreign Commercial Service Office in Turkey, brought nine Turkey-based American companies to Azerbaijan on November 25-26 for a two-day U.S. Executive Business Development Trade Mission. The trade delegation, led by U.S. Mission to Turkey Commercial Counselor Michael Lally, met with Azerbaijani public and private sector representatives to learn about investment opportunities and to find local partners and clients to build new business links in Azerbaijan. The group also met with U.S. Mission to Azerbaijan Chargé d’Affaires Dereck Hogan and American Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Nargiz Nasrullayeva-Muduroglu, Azpromo Head Rufat Mammadov, and Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Alper Coskun to discuss ways to strengthen U.S. business ties in the region.

“U.S. firms are doing business in Azerbaijan in areas ranging from energy and agriculture to aerospace, and Azerbaijan’s investments in economic development likely will lead to increased economic cooperation in the future. The U.S. Embassy is here to support U.S. companies that want to enter and/or expand their market share in Azerbaijan, or identify local partners. Development in this area supports the diversification of Azerbaijan’s economy and strengthens our bilateral relationship,” Chargé Hogan said commenting on the trade delegation’s visit.
